Summaries. The clue is in the name: they are there to summarize what goes on in the fanfic within. Just describe the basic premise and give warnings about questionable content. Simple, right?
Why, then, do bad-fic authors constantly get a concept that simple so very very wrong? In Harry Potter, in Sakuri Generic Anime...and in SpongeBob.
